Ingredients

  • 1 pound salmon fillets skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Start by cutting your salmon fillets into 1-inch cubes. Make sure to remove the skin if you haven’t already. The uniform size will help them cook evenly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon cubes to the bowl and toss gently until they are well-coated in the seasoning mixture.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This step is crucial for achieving that crispy texture.
  4. Place the seasoned salmon cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure that every piece gets that perfect crisp. Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  5. Once the salmon bites are golden brown and cooked through, remove them from the air fryer. Serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce or atop a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Fresh salmon works best; frozen salmon can also be used if thawed completely.
  • Experiment with different spices, such as cumin or lemon zest, for a unique twist.
  • Marinate the salmon in the seasoning for 30 minutes before cooking for added flavor.
