Ingredients

  • 3 whole Hass avocados ripe, halved and pitted
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spoon
  • Citrus juicer

Method

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Avocados - Start by cutting the ripe avocados in half. Remove the pit and scoop the flesh into your blender or food processor.
  2. Step 2: Add the Remaining Ingredients - To the avocados, add the sour cream, chopped cilantro, fresh lime juice, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Step 3: Blend Until Smooth - Secure the lid on your blender or processor, and blend the mixture until it’s completely smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed.
  4. Step 4: Taste and Adjust - Give your crema a taste. If you’d like more tang, add a bit more lime juice. Adjust garlic or salt to suit your preference.
  5. Step 5: Serve or Store - Transfer the avocado crema to a serving bowl and enjoy it right away, or cover it tightly and refrigerate until you’re ready to use it.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados for the best texture.
  • Only use fresh lime juice for maximum flavor.
  • This crema is great as a dip or spread.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container to prevent browning.
  • Adding lime juice on top can help keep it fresh longer!
