Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set this aside.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. Pour in the melted butter and black sesame tahini, stirring until everything is blended together.
- Step 4: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, using a spatula to gently fold until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
- Step 5: Divide the batter in half. In one half, stir in the black sesame powder.
- Step 6: Spoon alternating dollops of the plain and black sesame batters into the prepared loaf pan. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the batters together, creating a marbled effect.
- Step 7: Sprinkle a little granulated sugar on top for a sweet crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Step 8: Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for the sweetest flavor and best texture.
- Don’t skip the sugar sprinkle on top; it adds a delightful crunch.
- Feel free to add chocolate chips or nuts for an extra flavor boost.
- For a richer taste, try toasting the black sesame seeds before incorporating them.
