Ingredients

For the Crust:
  • 1 small head broccoli (about 2-3 cups riced)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
For the Toppings:
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup cheese (any cheese you love)
  • Veggies (optional, e.g., bell peppers, onions, mushrooms)

Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method

Preparation Steps:
  1. First, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash and cut the small head of broccoli into florets. Using a food processor, pulse the broccoli until it resembles rice, about 2-3 cups.
  2. Transfer the riced broccoli to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for about 3 minutes, or until slightly tender. Let it cool for a few minutes before handling.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked broccoli with the eggs, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using). Mix until everything is well combined.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Use a spatula to spread the broccoli mixture into a circular shape, about 1/4 inch thick, making sure it’s even throughout.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and firm.
  6. Remove the crust from the oven and spread the pizza sauce evenly over the top. Sprinkle your choice of cheese and any additional toppings you desire.
  7. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Once baked, let the pizza cool for a few minutes, slice it up, and enjoy this delicious Broccoli Crust Pizza!

Notes

  • Make sure to really squeeze out any excess moisture from the cooked broccoli to ensure a crispy crust.
  • Feel free to experiment with different cheese blends to find your perfect flavor profile.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes to the crust mixture.
