Ingredients
  

For the Cookies:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 7 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Sea salt for sprinkling to taste

Method
 

Baking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Step 3: In another bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Mix in the plain yogurt (or sour cream) and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.
  7. Step 7: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Step 8: Lightly sprinkle each cookie with a pinch of sea salt.
  9. Step 9: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still slightly soft.
  10. Step 10: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
