Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits (16.3-ounce)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large pinch salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Crockpot
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or fork
  • Spatula
  • Serving Platter

Method

  1. Start by opening the can of refrigerated biscuits. On a clean surface, cut each biscuit into quarters. This will help them soak up all the delicious flavors.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Toss in the biscuit pieces and mix well until they are fully coated in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  3. Next, take your crockpot and add a layer of the biscuit pieces. Sprinkle some of the brown sugar on top, followed by a drizzle of melted butter. Repeat these layers until all the biscuit pieces are in the crockpot.
  4. Cover the crockpot and set it to low heat. Allow the monkey bread to cook for about 2 to 3 hours. You’ll know it’s done when the biscuit pieces are fluffy and cooked through.
  5. While the monkey bread is cooking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until smooth. Set it aside.
  6. Once the cooking time is up, carefully remove the lid from the crockpot. Drizzle the glaze over the monkey bread while it’s still warm. Serve it directly from the crockpot for a fun, rustic presentation!
