Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar for sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder for rich chocolate flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Water to help dissolve the cocoa and sugar
  • 1 cup Milk any percentage for creaminess
  • 1 pinch Salt to enhance the flavor
  • optional Whipped cream for a decadent topping
  • optional Mini marshmallows for added sweetness and texture

Equipment

  • Small Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mug

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix these dry ingredients together to ensure an even distribution of flavors.
  2. Pour in 1 tablespoon of water, stirring continuously until the mixture forms a smooth paste.
  3. Add 1 cup of milk to the saucepan. Turn on the heat to medium-low and gently heat the mixture, stirring frequently. Be careful not to let it boil.
  4. Once the milk is heated through and the cocoa mixture is well incorporated, remove the saucepan from the heat. Pour your easy hot chocolate into your favorite mug.
  5. Top your hot chocolate with a generous dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with mini marshmallows if you like.
