Cuisine: Mexican

Ingredients

For the Dip:
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1.25 ounces taco seasoning (1 envelope)
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup taco cheese shredded
  • 3 cups lettuce shredded
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 2.25 ounces black olives sliced

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Serving dish
  • Knife and cutting board

Method

Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Use a spatula to blend them together until smooth and creamy. This will be the base of your dip.
  2. Sprinkle the taco seasoning into the cream mixture. Stir well until the seasoning is fully incorporated, giving your dip that signature taco taste.
  3. Spread the creamy taco mixture evenly in the bottom of your serving dish. This creates a luscious foundation for the rest of the ingredients.
  4. Pour the salsa over the cream layer, spreading it out evenly. This will add a refreshing touch and a pop of color to your dip.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded taco cheese on top of the salsa layer, allowing it to melt slightly as it sits, or serve it cold for a delightful crunch.
  6. Top your dip with the shredded lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced black olives. This will not only enhance the flavor but also create an eye-catching presentation.
  7. For the best results, refrigerate your Easy Taco Dip for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully. Serve it with tortilla chips or your favorite dippers, and watch it disappear!

Notes

  • Make it ahead of time! This dip can be prepared a day in advance. Just keep it covered in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
  • Feel free to customize your toppings based on your preferences. Avocado, jalapeños, or even corn could be excellent additions.
  • If you love a spicy kick, consider using a spicy salsa or adding diced jalapeños to the mix.
