Press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap tofu in paper towels and place a heavy object on top for 15-30 minutes.
Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes, approximately 1-inch pieces.
In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
Add the tofu cubes to the seasoning mixture and gently toss until evenly coated.
Heat 2 to 3 tablespoons of neutral cooking oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
Carefully add the coated tofu cubes to the hot oil in a single layer. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Remove tofu from the pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately.
