Instructions:
- Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Start by preheating your oven to 250°F (120°C). This low temperature will help crisp up your Chex Mix without burning it.
- Step 2: Combine the Dry Ingredients - In a large mixing bowl, add the Rice Chex, Wheat or Corn Chex, mini pretzels, Bugles, wasabi peas, and roasted peanuts. Gently toss these ingredients together until they are evenly mixed.
- Step 3: Prepare the Wet Mixture - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, stir in the corn syrup (or honey), soy sauce, onion powder, and ground ginger. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients - Pour the melted butter mixture over the dry ingredients in the bowl. Using a spatula, carefully fold the wet ingredients into the dry mix until every piece is well-coated.
- Step 5: Add Furikake Seasoning - Sprinkle the Nori Fume Furikake over the coated mix and toss again to ensure even distribution. This step is vital for infusing the umami flavor throughout the entire mix.
- Step 6: Bake the Chex Mix - Spread the mixture evenly across a large baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even toasting. The mix should be golden and crispy when done.
- Step 7: Cool and Store - Once baked, remove the Chex Mix from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet. This cooling process allows it to crisp up even more. Once cooled, transfer it to an airtight container for storage.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
- It can be kept at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
- For longer storage, consider freezing it in freezer-safe bags; it will last for about a month.
