Ingredients

Salad Ingredients
  • 6 cups mixed greens a variety like arugula, romaine, and spinach
  • 1 whole cucumber thinly sliced
  • 2/3 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/4 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinaigrette homemade or store-bought

Equipment

  • Salad bowl
  • Cutting board
  • Chef’s knife
  • Tongs

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Start by washing your mixed greens thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean towel or use a salad spinner. Next, slice the cucumber thinly, halve the cherry tomatoes, and thinly slice the red onion.
  2. In a large salad bowl, add the washed mixed greens. Layer the sliced cucumber, halved cherry tomatoes, and red onion on top of the greens.
  3. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese over the top of the salad to add a creamy texture that contrasts with the crisp vegetables.
  4. Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad. Start with a smaller amount and add more to taste, ensuring all ingredients are lightly coated.
  5. Using tongs, gently toss the salad to combine all ingredients evenly. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Wash and dry the greens thoroughly to prevent a soggy salad.
  • Slice the vegetables uniformly for even distribution of flavors.
  • Dress the salad just before serving to keep the greens crisp.
