Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs Ground Turkey lean protein
  • 8 oz Tomato Sauce adds moisture and flavor
  • 3 tbsp Tomato Paste intensifies flavor
  • 3 tbsp Taco Seasoning use homemade for freshness

Method
 

  1. Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, using a wooden spoon to break it apart. Cook until it is browned and no longer pink, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once the turkey is cooked, stir in the 8 oz of tomato sauce and 3 tbsp of tomato paste. Mix well to combine, allowing the flavors to meld.
  3. Sprinkle the 3 tbsp of taco seasoning into the skillet. Stir to coat the turkey evenly with the seasoning, and let it simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  4. While the turkey mixture is simmering, prepare your taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions. If using hard shells, you may want to warm them in the oven for a few minutes.
  5. Spoon the turkey mixture into each taco shell or tortilla. Top with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, or avocado.
  6. Serve the tacos immediately, allowing everyone to customize their own with toppings. Enjoy the burst of flavors in every bite!

Notes

  • Store leftover turkey mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat the filling on the stove or in the microwave before serving.
  • You can freeze the turkey filling for up to 3 months.
