Total Time 40 minutes
Servings: 4 servings
Course: Condiment
Cuisine: Japanese

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise low-fat for lighter option
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Storage Container

Method

  1. Gather all the ingredients listed above. Having everything ready will streamline the process.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, granulated sugar, ketchup, rice vinegar, and Lawry's Seasoned Salt.
  3. Using a whisk or spoon, mix the ingredients until they are well combined and the sugar is dissolved. You should have a smooth, creamy sauce.
  4. Taste your sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you prefer it sweeter, add a little more sugar. For extra tang, a splash more of rice vinegar can work wonders.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the sauce to a storage container. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  • For a healthier option, substitute Greek yogurt for some or all of the mayonnaise.
  • Freeze in ice cube trays for longer storage, thaw as needed.
