Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 pound asparagus trimmed
  • 1 lemon sliced thinly
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Sheet pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Brush or spoon
  • Spatula or tongs

Method

  1. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line your sheet pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted unsalted butter, honey, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to create the honey butter garlic sauce.
  3. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on one side of the sheet pan. Arrange the trimmed asparagus spears on the other side. Lay lemon slices over the salmon and asparagus.
  4. Generously brush the honey butter garlic mixture over the salmon and asparagus, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  5. Roast in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
  6. Remove from the oven, sprinkle fresh parsley over the top, and serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper on the sheet pan to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • Adjust honey amount to taste for a less sweet or more intense glaze.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Try substituting salmon with tofu or cauliflower steaks for a vegetarian option.
  • Prepare the sauce and trim asparagus the day before to save time on busy nights.
