Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs deboned but skin-on
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce or soy sauce
  • 0.75 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil for cooking

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Serving plate

Method

  1. Start by patting the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, honey, oyster sauce (or soy sauce), turmeric powder, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well blended.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken thighs, skin-side down.
  5. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy. Flip the chicken and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for another 7-10 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a serving plate. Drizzle any leftover marinade from the pan over the top and serve.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F to retain crispiness.
  • Freeze marinated chicken before cooking for a quick meal later.
