Ingredients

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, melt the 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the 1 cup of chopped onion, 1 red bell pepper, and 1 cup of chopped celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened. Add the 2 cloves of minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
  2. Next, stir in the juice of 1 whole lemon and the 3 cans of chopped clams with juice. Make sure to mix everything well. This is where the flavor starts to come together!
  3. Now, add the 1 tablespoon of hot sauce and 1 teaspoon of Kosher salt. Adjust the seasoning to your taste, and feel free to add more hot sauce if you like it spicy!
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the clam mixture with 2 cups of Italian-style Panko breadcrumbs. If you’re using the 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, add that in as well. Mix until everything is incorporated.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
