Ingredients
  

For the Macaroons:
  • 1 bag sweetened, flaked coconut approximately 5 and 1/2 cups
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk leave about 2 tablespoons in the can
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

Directions
  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Step 3: In a mixing bowl, combine the coconut, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, egg whites, and salt. Mix until sticky.
  4. Step 4: Drop mounds of the mixture onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on the edges.
  6. Step 6: Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure your coconut is fresh for the best flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep macaroons light and fluffy.
  • Try adding almond extract or citrus zest for a unique twist.
