Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup cooking oats providing fiber and texture
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter creamy or chunky
  • 1/4 cup honey natural sweetener
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet, milk, or dark

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Baking Sheet or Plate
  • Measuring cups
  • Plastic wrap or airtight container

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the cooking oats. Stir them gently to break up any clumps.
  2. Spoon in the peanut butter and honey. Mix the ingredients together using a wooden spoon or spatula until they are well combined.
  3. Add the chocolate chips to the bowl. Fold them into the mixture until they are evenly distributed.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  5. Once chilled, remove the mixture from the refrigerator. Use your hands to scoop out small portions and roll them into balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  6. Place the formed energy balls on a baking sheet or plate. If you want to store them, transfer them to an airtight container and keep them in the fridge.

Notes

  • Store energy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Freeze for longer storage; they can last up to three months.
  • Feel free to substitute peanut butter with almond or cashew butter for different flavors.
  • Add dried fruits or spices for seasonal variations.
  • Adjust the amount of honey or peanut butter if the mixture is too dry or crumbly.
