Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 pounds ground chuck
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 16 slices dill pickle
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onions
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

Equipment

  • Griddle or grill
  • Spatula
  • Meat thermometer
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Gather all your ingredients together, including the ground chuck, salt, pepper, and toppings.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck with salt and black pepper. Form into four patties, about 1 inch thick, with a thumb indentation in the center.
  3. Heat your grill or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the butter and allow it to melt.
  4. Cook the burger patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and add two slices of cheese on top. Cook until cheese melts and internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  5. Slice the brioche buns in half and toast them cut-side down on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Assemble your burgers by placing the patty on the bottom bun and layering with dill pickle slices, chopped red onions, mustard, and ketchup. Add the top bun.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite sides and enjoy!
