Ingredients

For the Marinade:
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly cracked
  • to taste Optional Herbs like rosemary or thyme

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Resealable Plastic Bag or Shallow Dish
  • Grill or Pan

Method

Instructions
  1. Gather all the ingredients listed above ready and accessible.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, honey, lemon juice, and black pepper. Whisk them together until well blended.
  3. Choose your favorite cut of steak—ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak work wonderfully. Trim any excess fat if desired.
  4. Place the steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is entirely coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade and let it come to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes before cooking. Grill or pan-sear the steak to your desired doneness, typically around 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  6. Allow the steak to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This lets the juices redistribute, making your steak even juicier. Serve it alongside your favorite sides, like roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • For gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • For a vegan option, use a plant-based steak alternative.
  • Store leftover cooked steak in an airtight container for up to three days.
