Instructions:
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This ensures your biscuits will rise beautifully and develop a golden color.
- Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, salt, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, dried parsley, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Step 4: In another bowl, mix the buttermilk and 6 tablespoons of melted butter. Stir until well combined.
- Step 5: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently fold the mixture until just combined.
- Step 6: Fold in the shredded sharp Cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- Step 7: Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop generous portions of the biscuit dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Step 8: While the biscuits are baking, melt the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter and mix in the additional garlic powder and salt. Brush the biscuits with the garlic butter mixture once done.
Notes
- For the best texture, avoid overmixing the dough.
- Experiment with different cheeses for unique flavors.
- Let biscuits cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm for the best experience; reheat if needed.
