Instructions:
- Start by thinly slicing your flank steak or tenderloin against the grain. Season the beef slices with black pepper and flour, tossing to coat evenly.
- In the same mixing bowl, add the tamari or soy sauce, maple syrup or honey, Gochujang, ginger juice, and chopped garlic. Whisk everything together until well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- On your sheet pan, arrange the broccoli florets, sliced shallots, and pickled ginger. Drizzle with sesame or olive oil, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, and toss to coat.
- Pour the marinade over the beef and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. After marinating, add the beef to the sheet pan with the vegetables. Roast in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 20-25 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and drizzle with toasted sesame oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve with spicy mayo and sliced Persian cucumbers.
Notes
- Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure even cooking.
- Keep an eye on the cooking time to avoid overcooking the beef.
- Use fresh garlic and ginger for enhanced flavor.
- Allow enough time for the beef to marinate for maximum flavor.
