Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips choose your favorite type—semi-sweet, milk, or dark chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil helps to create a smooth chocolate coating
  • 3/4 cup broken up ridged kettle potato chips adds a delightful crunch and saltiness
  • 3/4 cup roughly chopped pretzels for that irresistible salty twist
  • 3/4 cup broken up corn chips adds another layer of crunch
  • 1/3 cup peanuts optional, for extra protein and crunch
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling on top

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Begin by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. This will prevent the clusters from sticking and make cleanup a breeze.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the broken potato chips, chopped pretzels, corn chips, and peanuts if you're using them. Mix gently to combine.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the crunchy ingredients and stir until everything is well coated. Be careful not to crush the chips and pretzels too much.
  5. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop clusters of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Aim for clusters that are about 2 inches apart, as they will spread slightly.
  6. Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top of each cluster. This step is crucial for enhancing the flavor!
  7. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has completely hardened.
  8. Once set, remove the Snacky Clusters from the baking sheet and store them in an airtight container. Enjoy them as a snack, dessert, or a fun treat to share with friends!

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the mix-ins based on your preferences; swap out the corn chips for cheese puffs or add in some mini marshmallows.
  • If you prefer dark chocolate, it pairs beautifully with the salty components of the clusters.
  • Make sure to let the chocolate cool slightly before mixing it with the crunchy ingredients to avoid sogginess.
