Ingredients

For the Salmon:
  • 4 fillets salmon
  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste pepper
For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce your favorite
  • ½ cup water
For Serving:
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Rice for serving

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board

Method

Preparation Steps:
  1. Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with kosher salt and pepper to taste.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the maple syrup or honey, BBQ sauce, and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer. Allow it to bubble gently for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets into the skillet, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then gently flip the fillets over.
  5. Spoon some of the sauce over the top and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Once cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Transfer the salmon fillets to a serving platter, drizzle with the remaining sauce, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently to prevent drying out.
  • For meal prep, cook a larger batch and store it for quick lunches.
