For the Brownie Base:

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
For the Cookie Dough Layer:
  • 1 pkg. Betty Crocker Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 pkg. Hershey’s Heath Bits O Brickle Toffee Bits
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon corn syrup (optional)
  • 4 oz. semi-sweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • 9x13-inch Baking Pan
  • Spatula
  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Preparation Steps:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line your 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, water, vegetable oil, and egg. Mix well until smooth. Pour this mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  3. In another bowl, combine the cookie mix, softened butter, milk, and half of the toffee bits to make the cookie dough. Mix until well combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough on top of the brownie layer and gently spread it out.
  5. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool for 15 minutes.
  6. For the chocolate drizzle, melt the chopped chocolate and heavy cream together until smooth. Optional: add corn syrup for a glossy finish.
  7. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled brownies, then sprinkle with the remaining toffee bits and mini chocolate chips. Allow to set before slicing.

Notes

  • Use high-quality brownie mix for better flavor.
  • For a nut-free version, use nut-free cookie mix.
  • Adjust toffee bits according to your sweetness preference.
  • For dairy-free, substitute butter with a plant-based alternative.
