Ingredients
  

For the Meringue:
  • 3 large egg whites at room temperature
  • 100 g sugar granulated
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons sprinkles optional for decoration

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Step 2: In a mixing bowl, add 3 large egg whites and a pinch of salt.
  3. Step 3: Beat the egg whites on medium speed until frothy (2-3 minutes).
  4. Step 4: Add 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tartar and beat until soft peaks form.
  5. Step 5: Gradually add 100 g of sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until the mixture is glossy and stiff.
  6. Step 6: Gently fold in 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract using a spatula.
  7. Step 7: Pipe or dollop the meringue onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Add sprinkles if desired.
  8. Step 8: Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours until dry to the touch.
  9. Step 9: Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool inside to prevent cracking.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • Avoid humidity to keep meringues crisp.
