- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- Step 2: Carefully separate the egg yolks and whites into two different bowls.
- Step 3: In another bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, milk, melted butter or oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Step 4: Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
- Step 5: Using a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
- Step 6: Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the batter.
- Step 7: Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Step 8: Spray your preheated waffle maker with non-stick cooking spray or brush it with oil. Pour the recommended amount of batter onto the center and cook according to instructions.
- Step 9: Once the waffles are golden brown and crispy, carefully remove them and serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Leftover waffles can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer and transfer to a freezer bag for up to 2 months.
- Reheat in a toaster or oven for a few minutes until crispy.
